The Prince of Wales Will Participate in UN Climate Conference in South America
Prince William will represent the COP30 climate summit in South America next month, as announced by the royal household.
Prince William and King Charles appeared together on Thursday evening at a reception preceding the climate summit, which is planned for in the northern Brazilian city of Belém.
The King and Prince were participating in the Natural History Museum reception, marking an noteworthy combined presence at a pre-COP30 gathering arranged together with the British authorities.
Environmental Advocacy Commitment
King Charles has been a consistent supporter of environmental conservation - and the Prince of Wales has taken on the baton, with his own Earthshot awards, which will be held in Brazil preceding the COP summit.
Official representatives have described William's involvement at the forthcoming conference as taking on an significant responsibility in "climate diplomacy".
Recent Engagements
The King and Prince of Wales, making a joint entrance in the royal vehicle, were introduced to guests including environmentalists, scientists, environmental activists, diplomats and government officials.
This engagement involved presentations together with French leader Macron of France and other global statesmen at the Ocean Finance Summit in the Principality of Monaco earlier this year.
Environmental Prize Connection
The UN meeting will dovetail with the the royal's climate innovation prizes, which will wrap up in the Brazilian city the day before he attends the climate conference on the sixth of November.
Last week the royal figure characterized the award contenders as "modern-day pioneers".

King Charles has been a prominent presence at past COP meetings, providing the introductory remarks in the United Arab Emirates for COP28, including the reminder: "We are custodians of the planet, not its owners".
"For decades I've committed a substantial portion of my life trying to warn of the critical dangers confronting humanity over global warming, global temperature increases and biodiversity loss," the sovereign addressed participants.
